Alongside writer Susannah Pearse, I am excited to be working with Youth Music Theatre UK this summer to create a new musical based on nonsense verse.  The starting point will be Lewis Carroll's poem Jabberwocky, which will act as a framework to the piece.  We will be be creating our very own world of nonsense...including our own language!

I'm looking forward to creating a choral score for the piece, working with the exceptionally talented youngsters that are YMT.  The musical element to the piece will include actor musicians as well as singers, and we will be looking at how musical instruments can converse with each other in their own style of nonsense.

Joe Douglas will be directing the piece.  Joe and I have worked together for YMT before - on Studio Hemel in 2009, and Salisbury Summer Skills in 2010 - and along with Sue, we can't wait to get started on Jabberwocky.
